From runway to mountain weddings, discover a different side of Taiwan this October

October is when Taiwan finally begins to ease into autumn. The days are still warm, but the evenings are cooler, mountain air feels crisp, and weekends are filled with reasons to head outdoors.

Whether you're planning a weekend escape, looking for something beyond the usual tourist stops, or simply want to make the most of Taiwan's cooler season, these four events are worth adding to your October itinerary.

1. Taipei Fashion Week

Taipei Fashion Week SS27 returns this October, moving for the first time to C-LAB (Kong Zong Cultural Base), a cultural landmark with more than 80 years of history. Once home to an industrial research institute and later the Air Force General Headquarters, the site now serves as a hub for contemporary culture.

The move gives a historic site new life while signaling a broader shift in Taiwan's fashion scene, from a runway-focused event toward a platform with greater cultural depth and stronger industry connections.

This season also expands beyond the runway, bringing the human body into its visual concept while introducing more consumer experiences, including style exhibitions, direct shopping, and a new buyer matchmaking system connecting Taiwanese designers with international markets.

Date: Oct. 15–18, 2026
Location: Kong Zong Cultural Base (C-LAB), Taipei

Event Highlights

  • Runway shows: Discover new collections from Taiwanese designers and fashion brands.
  • Style exhibitions: Experience fashion through visual installations and creative presentations beyond the runway.
  • Direct shopping: Browse and purchase fashion directly from participating Taiwanese brands.
Travel Tips

  • Getting there: Take the Taipei Metro to Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station and walk to C-LAB.
  • C-LAB is close to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, so you can easily combine Fashion Week with exhibitions, design shops, and cafés.
Check the official Taipei Fashion Week website for the latest event schedule and visitor information. Check admission requirements for individual shows; the Trade Show is open to the public.

The annual festival celebrates this heritage through live carving demonstrations, hands-on woodcraft activities, cultural performances, creative markets, and tea experiences. More than a showcase of traditional art, it brings visitors into Sanyi's distinctive slow-living culture and keeps its woodcarving tradition alive for a new generation.
